So this Saturday me & Dave were due to go and see Varekai at the Royal Albert Hall. I was very excited all week, especially when we rocked up to the RAH and had a drink there then went and sat in our seats. The set looked very exciting and we had really good seats (I think) - row 3 of the circle. Anywho we were sitting there discussing who are better - male ballet dancers vs male gymnasts (dont ask) when a couple came up and informed us we were in their seats. So we showed them our tickets, discovered we did have the same seats so went to get one of the ushers to come and help us. The usher took one look at our tickets and informed us we actually had tickets for the Friday performance.
Crap!
So off we went to the ticket office as I was adamant I had booked for the Saturday. The representative came to see us and informed us that we should have checked the date on the tickets when we received them like a month ago.
Crap!
She then also informed us that the tickets were no longer worth anything so she could not exchange them for tickets that night, but we could buy new ones at £65 each.
Crap!
I was still adamant that I had booked for the Saturday, since that was the night I definitley wanted the tickets for, so she said I could go home and check my email and if there had been a mistake they would provide us for another weekend performance. Back to Dave’s we went and I checked my email. So I had booked my tickets for the Friday.
Crap!
I personally blame the website! I couldnt have possibly made the mistake :P Thankfully the representative also said that she would be willing to offer us a midweek performance if I had made the mistake. So I have emailed her asking if she will give us tickets for a midweek performance. Fingers crossed she gets back to us soon otherwise that was £50 wasted :(
So the lesson from this event is - ALWAYS quadruple check EVERYTHING about a ticket booking. I will not make the same mistake again, at least until I make the same mistake again!!
